Our Founder

Born into a family that valued education and public service, he displayed academic promise from an early age. He pursued pharmacy, graduating with Honours in B. Pharmacy, Honours) from BITS Pilani. This distinction reflected both his intellectual aptitude and deep commitment to pharmaceutical science and healthcare.

After graduation, he joined several multinational pharmaceutical firms. In these roles, he was entrusted with expanding operations into foreign markets. Over the course of two decades, he worked across regional assignments, building manufacturing, marketing, and distribution networks in emerging markets. His ability to combine scientific rigor with commercial acumen made him an asset when establishing new overseas operations.

Rather than staying perpetually within corporate boundaries, he nurtured an entrepreneurial vision of bringing high-quality generic medicines at affordable prices to underserved markets. It was this conviction that motivated him to chart his own course.

In 1995, drawing on decades of experience and networks, he founded Healol Pharmaceuticals in Kuala Lumpur. His founding mission was bold yet straightforward: to make cost-effective, quality-assured generics accessible to patients across Southeast Asia, Aiming To Heal All!

Under his guidance, Healol first entered the Vietnamese market with a modest portfolio from a single manufacturer — but with uncompromising standards. That initial foothold became the launching pad for expansion into Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, Laos, Brunei, and the Philippines.

He led Healol’s growth from a pure distribution/marketing company into a diversified regional healthcare enterprise till 2019.
